The NFL season’s final Thursday Night Football game is already here! Tonight, it’ll feature the Cowboys and Titans in Tennessee. With injuries plaguing the Titans, Dallas is currently a 13.5-point favorite, while the over/under is set at 40.5. Clearly, like us, Vegas doesn’t have much faith in Tennessee’s offence.
The Teams
Dallas comes into tonight’s game following their terrific 40-34 win over the Eagles on Christmas Eve. Technically, they still have a chance to win the division but as they are two games behind Philadelphia, the chances of that happening are very low. Offensively, look for Dak Prescott to be the difference maker tonight against the Titans. Tennessee’s run defence is very solid and with Tony Pollard battling injuries and questionable to play, the Cowboys won’t have their backfield at 100%. On the other side of the ball, star linebacker Micah Parsons is also questionable to play. If he can’t go, the defensive line will have to step up to pressure Tennessee’s quarterback.
For the Titans, don’t expect much on offence tonight. The 7-8 squad will be starting Josh Dobbs at QB for the first time in his career, while Derrick Henry will be missing the game due to injury. Tennessee is coming into tonight’s game on a five-game losing streak and has scored just 28 points in their last two games combined. They’re now tied for the division lead with Jacksonville and regardless of the outcome tonight, they’ll play for a spot in the postseason next weekend against the Jags. As heavy underdogs in a game they don’t really need to win, the Titans could easily let this one get a little out of hand tonight if they’re not careful.
The Pick – Cowboys and Titans
For the pick, we’ll take the Cowboys to cover the large spread tonight. It’s tough to imagine a Josh Dobbs offence moving the ball much on Dallas’ defence and it’s just as hard to imagine the Cowboys’ offence not putting up at least a few scores against a defence that let the Texans get 19 on them last weekend.
