Week 3 Power Rankings

1 – Buffalo Bills (1)

The Bills are an absolute juggernaut right now. After taking down the defending champs in Week 1, they dominated the Titans on Monday night for a 41-7 win. Josh Allen is an MVP favorite, Stefon Diggs looks like one of the best receivers in the league, and the defence has only allowed two touchdowns in two games. Obviously, the season is still early, but the Bills are looking extremely dangerous right now and are the clear top dog in the NFL.

2 – Kansas City Chiefs (2)

Patrick Mahomes didn’t look nearly as good in Week 2 as he did in the season opener, but the Chiefs still won against a very good Los Angeles Chargers team on Thursday night. With their history of success and roster of guys who know how to win in the NFL, the Chiefs should be considered a top 5 team in the league all season. They also may be the only team in the NFL that can stop the Buffalo Bills right now. For those reasons, the Chiefs remain in the second spot of our latest Power Rankings.

3 – Philadelphia Eagles (-)

After a Week 1 win against Detroit in which they allowed 35 points, the Eagles’ defence bounced back extremely well on Monday night, holding Minnesota to just seven points and intercepting Kirk Cousins three times. On the other side of the ball, Jalen Hurts was dealing. If the Eagles offence can remain as hot as they’ve looked through the first two weeks and the defence can come together like they did on Monday, the Eagles will be very tough to beat.

4 – Los Angeles Chargers (4)

The only team with a loss in our Top 5 is the Chargers. Even though they did fall to the Chiefs, anyone who watched the game would agree that Los Angeles was only a few plays away from a completely different result. Whether it was the two dropped interceptions by Asante Samuel or the pick six from inside the five yard line, L.A. was arguably the better team on Thursday night at Arrowhead. Of course, finding ways to win games is everything in the NFL, and that is why the Chargers still find themselves below Kansas City in this week’s Power Rankings.

5 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3)

Tampa Bay’s defence has been incredible through two games this season, allowing just 13 points against while coming up with four interceptions and two fumble recoveries. The problem, however, is with Tom Brady’s offence. The Bucs have had problems scoring offensively, and only have two offensive touchdowns in two games. Tom Brady’s visible frustration and sideline reactions in New Orleans made it clear that this team is not operating as well as it can yet. Fortunately, it is Tom Brady we’re talking about.
