1 – Philadelphia Eagles (2)
The Eagles proved they deserve to be at the top of our Week 14 Power Rankings with a 35-10 decimation of the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. A.J Brown’s revenge game was a roaring success, as the receiver brought in eight catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns in a game that was never close. Jalen Hurts continues to force himself into the MVP conversation as well and threw for 380 yards and three touchdowns in the game. This week, Philly will be in New York to take on the Giants in an important divisional battle against a rival that’s desperate for a win.
2 – Dallas Cowboys (n/a)
The Cowboys took a two-point lead and turned it into a blowout in fifteen minutes on Sunday night against the Colts. Most of this was thanks to their incredible defence, which forced five Indianapolis turnovers on the day. The Cowboys have now won five of their last six games and will most likely keep rolling in the next two weeks with games against the Texans and Jaguars. If their offence can keep going strong, watch out for this team in the postseason.
3 – San Francisco 49ers (5)
Even with Jimmy Garoppolo leaving the game early with an injury, the 49ers were still able to dominate the 8-3 Miami Dolphins. On offence, the ball once again went through Christian McCaffrey, as the running back had a total of 25 touches for over 140 yards and a score. The heart of this team, though, is defence. Nick Bosa and the 9ers made Tua’s life hell on Sunday and forced three turnovers out of him. After giving up a 75-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the game, the defence turned up the heat on Tua and it showed. Tagovailoa had his worst game of the season and the offence scored just ten points for the rest of the game.
With so many weapons on offence and maybe the best defence in the league, San Francisco may be the only team in NFL that can win playoff games with question marks at QB.
4 – Cincinnati Bengals (n/a)
Ja’Maar Chase is back and so are the Bengals, sliding into fourth on our Week 14 Power Rankings. For whatever reason, playing against the Chiefs always brings the best out of Joe Burrow and the third year QB is now 3-0 in his career against Mahomes. With Joe Mixon still injured, the Bengals are once again starting to fire on all cylinders at the right time. In Week 14, they’ll look for five straight wins against a Browns team that they historically have trouble against.
5 – Kansas City Chiefs (1)
Rounding out the Week 14 Power Rankings in the fifth spot are the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s tough to bring a team from first to fifth after one three-point loss, but the top of the league is a tough spot to stay right now. Despite the drop, the main objective for the Chiefs remains finishing first in the AFC. Thankfully, they only have one game left against a team with a winning record, which will be at home against the Seahawks. If this team can get a bye and home field advantage through the playoffs, they’re still the team to beat in the conference.
Honourable Mentions – Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings
