1 – Philadelphia Eagles (2)
Thanks to a loss from the Ravens, the Eagles are back on top of the Power Rankings! Hopefully, Philadelphia took advantage of the bye week because they’ve got a very tough stretch of games coming up, starting with a Week 11 Super Bowl rematch against the Chiefs. With Dallas Goedert out for the next few weeks due to an arm injury, expect to see A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith carry the load in the pass game. Goedert will be a big loss, but this team can overcome it if Hurts is on his game.
2 – Kansas City Chiefs (3)
Kansas City may sit behind Philly this week, but that’ll certainly change if they can get a win in Week 11. Mahomes and the young receivers are still figuring things out and going through growing pains, but with this defence playing as well as they are, the wins have continued to come for the Chiefs. It may be a different recipe than we’ve seen over the last five years of dominance, but the results are the same.
3 – San Francisco 49ers (9)
This past Sunday, the 49ers looked as good as they have in a while. Brock Purdy, Trent Williams, and Deebo Samuel were all back to their old selves, and the team dominated Jacksonville from start to finish. Christian McCaffrey was finally held out of the endzone for the first time in seventeen games, but the 49ers still managed to score 34 points. When both sides of the ball are playing the way they did last week, San Francisco is probably the most complete team in the league.
4 – Detroit Lions (5)
Dan Campbell’s Lions are now 7-2 after barely escaping a high-scoring affair in Los Angeles. The defence still has some work to do for this team to compare with Philly and San Francisco, but it was great to watch Detroit’s offence go to work and incorporate both of their talented running backs. With David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs sharing the touches, this team is truly dangerous in every situation with the ball. Look for them to score a lot again in Week 11 against the lowly Chicago Bears.
5 – Baltimore Ravens (1)
Baltimore looked like they were going to walk over yet another team on Sunday, but they were dealt a shocking defeat instead. After going up 31-17 in the fourth quarter against the Browns, Baltimore crumbled, allowing 16 straight points and eventually losing 33-31. The team remains at the top of the AFC North, but the best division in football won’t let them off easy, and this loss could end up being a massive one at the end of the season. The Ravens are still one of the best teams in the league when they’re playing their best, but they need be more consistent at playing for all 60 minutes.
6 – Dallas Cowboys (7)
Once again, the Dallas Cowboys beat up on a bad team in Week 10. Dak Prescott may catch slack from the media, but all season, he has looked like the best quarterback in the league against bad defenses. The Cowboys put up 49 points against the Giants on Sunday, and Dak threw for 400 yards and four touchdowns. Can this team ever do it against elite competition, though? We should start to get a better idea of that at the end of the season, as Dallas will play Philly, Buffalo, Seattle, Miami, and Detroit in Weeks 13 to 17.
7 – Jacksonville Jaguars (4)
If you’re a Jags fan, you’re just hoping that everyone can forget about last week’s performance against San Francisco. Coming into the game with five straight wins, the Jags got absolutely dismantled by the 49ers. It was so bad that with just one game, some are once again questioning the legitimacy of this team. I don’t necessarily think that this loss will derail the season, but they’ll need to be sharp against Tennessee in Week 11. With the Texans and Colts grabbing surprising wins last week, the AFC South is still very competitive.
8 – Miami Dolphins (8)
The Dolphins still haven’t beaten a team with a winning record this year and they won’t get the opportunity to do so until Week 16 against Dallas. In the meantime, they’ll most likely just keep winning. Like the Cowboys, Miami has looked terrific against bad opponents this season. With De’Von Achane coming back to the team, I expect to see more of the same for a while. However, until they beat a team with a winning record, it’s going to be tough to put them much higher on this list.
9 – Cleveland Browns (10)
The Browns came back against Baltimore in fantastic fashion on Sunday, but they’ll be without Deshaun Watson for the rest of the season. Watson hasn’t played like his former self yet in Cleveland, but the quarterback was terrific in the second half against the Ravens and the loss is a big deal. The Browns will remain competitive because of their defence, but wins against the best teams in the AFC won’t be easy to come by with P.J. Walker at quarterback.
10 – Houston Texans (n/a)
For the second straight week, C.J. Stroud capped off a great afternoon with a game-winning touchdown drive. The rookie QB has been terrific recently, and even with two fumbles and an interception against the Bengals, he was still able to lead his team to victory on Sunday. Even with Nico Collins out due to injury, Stroud threw for 356 yards and frequently went to Tank Dell, Noah Brown and Dalton Shultz. In Week 11, the Texans will look to get to 6-4 with their third win in a row against the Cardinals.
