If the Playoffs Started Today …

If the Playoffs Started Today ...

After another great weekend of hockey, we are getting closer and closer to the playoffs. And we at Officepools are busy preparing our Playoff Pools for you. We still have a couple of weeks to go but below we are discussing every teams current playoff position and possibility as if the playoffs were starting today.

Clinched Spots:

As of today, the Jets, Stars and Capitals have secured their playoff spots. It was clear from early on this season that the Capitals and Jets would be up here. The Dallas Stars worked their way up the ranks after a rocky season start.

Eliminated:

The Predators, Blackhawks, Sharks and Seattle Kraken have been eliminated from playoff contention. And unfortunately, this news hasn’t come as a shock to anyone after their performances this season.

Wild Card Spots:

The chase to secure a wild card spot continues but if the playoffs started today, the Senators and Habs would have secured the Eastern Conference spots and the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild claim the current Western Conference spots.

Eastern Conference Playoff Spots:

If the playoffs started today, the Leafs, Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, and the New Jersey Devils would have a spot.

The NY Rangers, Blue Jackets, Detroit Red Wings, NY Islanders, Pittsburgh Penguins, Boston Bruins Philadelphia Flyers and Buffalo Sabres would be eliminated.

Western Conference Playoff Spots:

Over in the Western Conference, the other playoff spot holders aside from those already secured are the Colorado Avalanche, Vegas Golden Knights, LA Kings and the Edmonton Oilers.

This means that the Canucks, Calgary Flames, Utah, Anaheim Ducks would also be eliminated.

So that’s how the league would look if the Playoffs started today. If you want to create your bracket ahead of time, or your Playoff pools, head over to our site now. Click here
