Chargers vs. Broncos – MNF Preview

Published on

Tonight, Russell Wilson and the Broncos will look to finally get on track in Los Angeles against the Chargers.

The Teams

It’s been a serious struggle for Denver this season, and unfortunately, it’s also been a very public struggle. Tonight’s contest will be the team’s fourth primetime game in six weeks, and may be one of the last opportunities to turn around public perception. Just eleven days ago, they opened the NFL’s fifth week with one of the worst performances from any team in recent memory, losing 12-9 at home against the Colts. Even with their struggles, there still is a lot of time to turn things around.

The team comes into tonight looking to get back to 3-3 and just one game off the division lead. For things to improve, Russell Wilson and the offence need to get going. Injury or not, Russ has been far from what he was expected to be after being traded in the offseason and will need to step it up if this team has any chance of competing in a very competitive AFC West.

The Chargers have also had a bit of a rocky start. However, some of this play can certainly be attributed to the injury problems that the team has had. Keenan Allen, Justin Herbert, and Joey Bosa are just a few of the stars on this team that have dealt with injuries already. Although Herbert hasn’t missed a game, Allen hasn’t played a snap since Week 1 and Bosa is expected to miss at least another six weeks with a groin injury.

Even with these issues, the Chargers find themselves the favorites at home tonight with a chance to get to 4-2. The win would tie them for the division lead with Kansas City, who they narrowly lost to in Week 2.

The Pick

The Chargers have the better team right now. Both quarterbacks are a little banged up but Justin Herbert can definitely be trusted more than Russell Wilson. We’ll take the Chargers to win this one.
